Our Building
WE HAVE MOVED!
We recently moved to 215 North College Avenue, just a half block off the northwest corner of the downtown square. This historic building sat vacant for decades before being revitalized for our new office. Our website is also undergoing some big changes. We hope to have an updated website in May 2024.
Our old office at 212 E Erwin Street is the former location of the Tyler Barber College. Smith County purchased all of the historic buildings on that block, and they will all be demolished soon to make way for a new courthouse.
Henry Miller Morgan established the Tyler Barber College in 1933.
The school was the first African-American barber college in the United States.
